1. Who we are
HERSKY (hersky.info) is operated by Jake Hersky in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We run a DJ and entertainment business, an online merch shop, and web design services. If you have questions about this policy, email hersky.ott@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
We collect only the information we need to run the business — nothing more:
Contact and lead forms: your name, email address, phone number, and event or project details you share when you request a quote or consultation.
Merch shop orders: your name, email address, shipping address, and order details. Payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card numbers.
3. How we use it
We use your information to respond to inquiries, fulfil and ship orders, process payments, provide DJ and web design services, and — only with your express consent — send you marketing emails. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
4. Payments and fulfilment
Card payments are handled by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy. Merch is printed on demand and shipped by Printful, who receives your name, shipping address, and order details solely to print and deliver your items. These providers only get what they need to do their job.
5. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working (cart, currency preference, cookie-consent choice) and to run secure checkout through Stripe. Read the full details in our Cookie Policy.
6. Email marketing and CASL
We only send marketing emails to people who have given express consent, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by clicking it or emailing hersky.ott@gmail.com.
7. How long we keep it
Order records are kept for 7 years to meet Canadian tax requirements. Sales leads and inquiry details are kept for up to 2 years, then deleted. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
8. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, and request deletion. Email your request to hersky.ott@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Quebec residents
If you are in Quebec, Quebec's Law 25 gives you additional rights, including the right to request that we stop disseminating your personal information and to be informed of automated decision-making affecting you. Contact us at hersky.ott@gmail.com to exercise these rights.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
